PARTNERSHIPS SingersMarin partners with the Canal Welcome Center. We would like to thank the Bill Graham Foundation for stepping up with a grant of $1000 to SingersMarin to revive the successful singing program we established in 2009 at the Canal Welcome Center, 141 Alto Street in San Rafael. Lack of funding had us cancel the class last fall. However, we are now able to offer the singing class again, for children, ages 6 - 8, which begins in March, 2010 on Thursday afternoons. These young singers will join our own "Twinkling Stars" in performances at the Marin Human Race, and the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade, as well as in the combined youth choral concert on May 16th.
Jeanie's Java raising money for Tour Scholarships Long time supporter of SingersMarin, Jeannie Brown of Jeanie's Java, 1550 Tiburon Boulevard (on the boardwalk) in Tiburon, is again raffling off a large "Spring Basket" filled with lots of delightful gifts, including fine wine and chocolates. This is her third basket for SingersMarin. The money she raises is to support youth scholarships for our International Tours. This year, it will provide scholarship assistance to help with travel expenses to South Africa in July/August. The drawing is scheduled for April 2. Stop by soon to support this worthwhile cause. (If you have never been to Jeanie's Java, you're missing out on a great experience!)
